Senseless Gun Deaths In America: We Should Be Ashamed
Friday, February 1, 2013 a 3-year-old boy killed himself with a single gunshot wound to the head. He and his 7-old-sibling thought the pink handgun was a toy.
Also on Friday, February 1, 2013 an elderly man killed one teenager and seriously injured another during an attempted robbery.
Saturday February 2, 2013 a Florida man killed his two sons–with a TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun–and forced his wife to watch.
On Sunday, February 3, 2013 that same man that killed his two children and forced his wife to watch the murders, killed himself.
Also on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Calaveras County, California “a Little League coach, author and former airline pilot had shot his two teenage children to death and then turned the gun on himself at their home in one of the region’s most exclusive neighborhoods.”
On Monday, February 4, 2013, a couple were “shot and killed in an argument over dog feces.”
On Monday, February 4, 2013 a 15-year-old boy shot himself in the school bathroom. He killed himself after being bullied for years.
Today, Tuesday, February 5, 2013 would have been Trayvon Martin’s 18th birthday.
There are obviously a lot more that I don’t know about. But this is so disheartening and shameful. Seems as though Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that there is no value to human life.
Sadly, Slate has a running tally of American gun deaths since the Newtown massacre.
Our country should be ashamed. The NRA should be ashamed. The media should be ashamed. The entertainment and game industry should be ashamed. Look at what we have become.





No patience ,pity ,or tolerance for the 85% of panhandlers in Idaho Falls that are local resident alcoholics and addicts,and, people living off the well meaning of good people.
What in the world does that have to do with gun deaths?
Henrietta, it’s time you quit believing that listening to Rush Limbaugh is a way to become informed. Rush gets paid to bad mouth EVERYTHING democrats and the President stand for. You are quoting the same tired bi lines of the GOP, and they don’t work anymore. Proof is in the last Presidential Election.
